visiting our web sites to trust us and to believe that our
products do what we say they will.
But the new FTC regulations put severe
restrictions on using testimonials. Basically, if we use
testimonials, there are a LOT of hoops to jump through and
disclaimers to add. (Disclaimer: this is not intended as legal
advice - I am not a lawyer).
All of this means that's it's now harder
than ever to develop trust with people who don't know who the
heck you are.
Even in brick and mortar retail -
everyone knows that the best type of traffic you can receive
are prospects who have BEEN REFERRED BY SOMEONE ELSE -
SOMEONE THEY ALREADY KNOW, LIKE AND TRUST.
What the FTC cannot regulate is what
people tell their friends about you, your product or your
service. After all, we still have the First Amendment right of
free speech!!

Will they remember you
later?

How likely do you think
they are to revisit your site when they're
ready to take action on what you're offering?
